Tom Wilson's Knee-on-Knee Hit on Conor Sheary

The big question of the night, will Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson be suspended for this knee-on-knee hit on Penguins forward Conor Sheary. There was no penalty called on the play. Also, keep in mind that Wilson has never been suspended.

Capitals Tom Wilson Smokes Islanders D-Man Lubomir Visnovsky

Last night, at the 05:54 mark of the second period, Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson ran over New York Islanders d-man Lubomir Visnovsky. Wilson was given a two-minute minor penalty for charging. Visnovsky left the game and didn't return. That hit didn't sit well with the Islanders.

Islanders forward Kyle Okposo wasn't very impressed with Wilson's charge.

"He's an idiot," Okposo said of Wilson. "The guy runs around, hits reckless, leaves his feet. There's no place for that."

Wilson will not be suspended for his hit on Visnovsky.

Hate Shanny for doing his job. Wow! Brendan Shannahan has no choice but to suspend Tom Wilson, it's a brutal, dirty, illegal hit. If he doesn't suspend him, he loses all credibility in my opinion.

I would hardly doubt that Bob McKenzie would actually say something silly like that... Based on the hit, it was violent, and it was a predatory hit. Wilson takes about 6-8 strides and doesn't slow down, one bit. Absolutely blows Brayden Schenn up.

This is a blatant charging, and it's also a checking from behind penalty. If the NHL's Department of Player Safety doesn't suspend Tom Wilson for this dangerous hit on Brayden Schenn, they're derelict in their duties. There's no sense to these types of hits.

Someone is going to get killed on the ice and it's not going to be from a fight, it's going to be from a dangerous hit like this. Personally, I am more offended by these types of hockey plays than to goons dropping the gloves in a staged fight.
