Mike Commodore vs Krys Barch

This is the Mike Commodore that have come to appreciate. At the end of this fight watch the hay maker that former Sioux great Commodore lands on Barch. On the Dallas Stars Even with Avery gone there still are enough villains on the Dallas team to dislike.

The Legend grows.

Milian Lucic is one tough customer and is quickly becoming the crowd favorite in Boston. The guy is almost the second coming of former Bruins great Cam Neely. Lucic much like Neely can fight, hit and score. Former Bruins and current Florida Panther Nick Boyton takes on Milan Lucic and gets beat up. The Bruins keep rolling along.

Tom Kostopoulos pounds Mike Van Ryn into the boards.

This hit by Tom Kostopoulos is the latest dirty check to cause injury to another player in the NHL. There is no reason for Kostopoulos to hit Maple Leafs defenseman Mike Van Ryn like that. The three game suspension is too light in my opinion.

Hab draws three-game ban, but some Leafs say tougher action needed

Nov 11, 2008 04:30 AM --- Mark Zwolinski
When Montreal's Tom Kostopoulos was suspended three games yesterday for his hit on Maple Leafs defenceman Mike Van Ryn, the reaction from the Toronto camp suggested the time has come for the NHL to crack down on dangerous hits to the head.

"If a guy is vulnerable going into the boards, you have to be aware of that," said Leafs forward Ryan Hollweg, who has been suspended twice this season for hits from behind. "I know what it's like from the other side. It's punishable."

Van Ryn remained in Toronto yesterday while the Leafs left for a three-game western Canadian road trip, still in considerable pain from the devastating hit from behind he took during Saturday's 6-3 win over the Canadiens.

Van Ryn suffered a concussion of as-yet unknown grade, a broken nose, a broken bone in his hand, a gash to the forehead and damage to his teeth and gums.

The NHL, already under pressure to get tough with players who deliver shots from behind, appeared to weigh Van Ryn's injuries heavily when deciding on Kostopoulos's punishment.

Things get crazy in Boston.

Check out this hit by Andrew Ference on Dallas tough guy Steve Ott that led to the fight between Ference and super punk Sean Avery. I really wish I would have DVRed this game so I could re-watch this game more closely. That fact is that it slipped my mind because I was preoccupied with the Sioux and Badges game Saturday night.

It would be an understatement to say that there was a lot of stuff going on during this game. It is good to see the Bruins take exception with Ott and Avery's antics.

Here is a link to all of the action from last night's game.

Even former UMD Bulldog Matt Niskanen and Shane Hnidy got after it.

My question to the Stars fans is when did the Dallas Stars become such a band of cheap shot artists?

Tim Conboy vs Steve Downie; ouch he bit me...

The Rink Rat gave me a heads up on this fight video. First of all, I can't believe that I had missed this story and not heard about this one until this evening.

Check out the fight video, typical Downie stuff hacking someone with his stick. That guy will get his someday. Honestly, I have to say that Steve Downie is a disgrace to the game of hockey and one of the biggest hacks to ever play the game and I love watching him get pounded on.

That being said apparently we are going to have to send Tim Conboy to get his rabies shots because it is alleged that Conboy bit Steve Downie on the hand actually drawing blood and leaving teeth marks. Yeah; that's right, Tim Conboy bit super hack Steve Downie on the hand. Since when did hockey players start acting like a bunch of 5 year old girls? I would be willing to bet this isn't the last time we hear about this.

Have a bite?

The AHL should be looking into a suspension for Albany River Rats captain Tim Conboy, who was assessed a fighting major, instigation and unsportsmanlike minors, a game misconduct for instigating and a game misconduct for "persisting in a fight," following a high-sticking incident and fight with Steve Downie during the Phantoms' 3-0 win Saturday afternoon.
"I've never heard of [persisting] in a fight before," said Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren. "The report I got was that [Conboy] bit Downie on the hand. He had blood and teeth marks on his hand."

Sidney Crosby and Andrew Ference drop the gloves.

I saw this the yesterday when I was going through the box scores. At first; I actually thought it was a misprint, Sidney Crosby doesn’t get into fights, and it’s not his role. Incidentally, this was Sid “the Kid's” first professional fight, let’s hope Crosby lets his tough guys do the heavy lifting and leave the scoring to Crosby.
I am actually sorry that I didn’t get to watch this game. I was working and I only taped the Wild and Rangers game I was not able to see this game.

Goon’s advice to Sidney Crosby

First off Sidney take off you helmet, it is considered to be a bush league move to get into a fight with someone while leaving your helmet/shield on. Maybe someone forgot to tell Crosby that it’s part of the fighters code that you take off your helmet during a fight so the guy you’re fighting doesn't break his hand punching your shield. Actually the refs are supposed to give Crosby an extra two minutes for getting into a fight while wearing a shield.
