Gandalf The Red from Sixty Minutes. No Alibis. No Regrets. has an interesting take on my favorite Fighting Sioux defenseman, big Joe Finley. Just for the record big Joe is out with a concussion, which I hope he gets over soon. You do have to love Gandalf's attempt at humor. I still want to see the letter that Joe drafted last season for the Wisconsin mascot.

Last week's poll winner Joe Finley, top goon in the WCHA, didn't play this past weekend for the North Dakota Fighting Sioux due to injury, or at least that is what they want you to believe.

I think its more than a coincidence that Joe Finley had a week off and couldn't return to the lineup w/ an "undisclosed injury" when the opponent just happened to be the Wisconsin Badgers. I would venture that Joe Finley didn't play last weekend because of Patrick Johnson.

Its well documented that Joe Finley was owned by Patrick Johnson last season, likely on several occasions. Patrick said so himself at one point that he told the top goon that he was going to own him. What reason would I have not to believe Patrick? He's the son of legends in Wisconsin Hockey history and reminds us before each home game that "It's a great day for hockey!"
