Here is the latest poll from USCHO, it is what it is, an early season poll. Sioux fans put away the sharp objects and get off the bridge. Like I told someone this weekend you really can't get an honest legitimate reading on teams until after the first of the year. So what B.C. lost a game, I still think they are the best team in the country regardless of them losing a game or not. Most of us don't expect our teams to go 40-0-0 for the season it isn't realistic.
How do you not play a game and move up?
Give me a break, one of the biggest jokes of this poll is Princeton moved from 10th place to 9th and hasn't even played a game yet, there is no way in hell that EZAC Princeton is the 9th best team in the country. So we are to believe that Princeton is legitimately right behind Notre Dame in the standings? Yeah, we will see how that plays out this season.
Cute EZAC acronym. I'm surprised you didn't go to Princeton with that brain.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure if you follow the NCAA tournament you'll note that plenty of EZAC teams make it in but few make it out of the regionals.
ReplyDeleteThere's probably a reason for that, but I'm not educamacated enough to understand that.
Whistler your on the right wavelength most people that have followed college hockey for more than two years knows that the ECAC is the weakest of the big four hockey conferences. Hence the name the EZAC, which hasn't won a NCAA title since what 1989 when the Harvard Crimson beat Minnesota...
ReplyDeleteI think this shows a real weakness in the PWR ranking. After all the EZAC always seems to have at least 2 teams in the the top ten but they never do anything.
ReplyDeleteIf you think past performance means anything this year I guess I gave you a little too much credit.
ReplyDeleteWell untill an EZAC team makes it to the Frozen 4 in the next decade, then I might think about droping the acronym, untill then. It stays, as history, and tradition seem to always play out in College Hockey's Only Big Tourney..
ReplyDeleteI agree BrettB until the EZAC proves it can win and get to the Frozen Four and not lose a majority of their games in the first round they will continue to be the EZAC.
ReplyDeleteIf you think past performance means anything this year
ReplyDeleteAh October, when EZAC fans can dream of the glory days of old.
:-)
19 years since they last won a championship.
ReplyDeleteI definitely am not an ECAC fan. I happen to be a North Dakota fan.
ReplyDeleteHey why don't you go out on a limb then. Which EZAC team is going to make the Frozen Four.
ReplyDeleteAnd what is your opinion of the Cup Cake Hockey Association moniker as well? Not saying there aren't 4-5 good teams but after that they're terrible.
Seeing as there aren't any ECAC hockey teams in the top 4, it would appear none are projected to make it huh? Funny how that math works. I think Princeton has a decent chance if Kalemba has a couple of hot games.
ReplyDeleteAnd the CCHA has had finalists in the national championship game the past two years, and have a national title more recently than the WCHA.
