Charges Yet To Be Filed Against KFAN Sportscaster
John Lauritsen (WCCO) Last week's arrest of KFAN radio talk show host Jeff Dubay is still a talker around the Twin Cities. Dubay was arrested Wednesday night while traveling westbound on Highway 36 in Maplewood.
According to police, around 10:00 that evening, an officer on patrol pulled Dubay over when he discovered that the vehicle's owner had a suspended license. Police said during the stop, the officer then discovered an illegal substance in Dubay's possession.
He was arrested, and later released. So far he has not been charged and Police Chief Dave Thomalla won't say when or if charges will be filed.
"I've been talking to our officer that's been dealing with this case almost daily, and he's not ready to commit to that yet," said Thomalla.
Thomalla said the investigation is being treated as 5th degree violation of a controlled substance. He wants to make it clear that the investigation is focusing on possession, not manufacturing or selling.
