TSN.CA -- Hockey Canada was informed by the International Ice Hockey Federation on Monday that defenceman Mathew Dumba will not be disciplined further for kneeing forward Erik Karlsson during Team Canada's 3-0 loss to Sweden in a pre-tournament game for the World Junior Hockey Championship.
Dumba was given a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct for the incident.
Any suspension would have been a blow to Canada's defence, which already has Griffin Reinhart serving a three-game suspension once the World Junior tournament begins on Boxing Day.

Slovak Hack Martin Marincin's dirty hit on Team USA's Jason Zucker
I dare someone to defend the play of Slovak defenseman Martin Marincin... There is no excuse for this kind of play in the WJC or in level of hockey. Personally, I thought that the Slovak WJC team played very dirty hockey from the drop of the first puck till the end of the game the Slovak defenseman Martin Marincin should be suspended for the rest of the tourney for this bush league hit. The Slovak hockey team is lucky that fighting isn't allowed in the WJC.

USA WJC games to be on NHL Network.
Sean Leahy from Going Five Hole has confirmed that all USA WJC team games will be on the NHL Network. This is really good news for WJC fans, usually we don't get to see very many of the WJC games. In the past there has been a void of television coverage in the USA of the WJC. Canada unlike the USA usually gets all of their games on TSN. The 2006 WJC games from Vancouver were on FSN here in North Dakota and Minnesota.
I (Sean Leahy) confirmed with with Dave Fischel, Director of Media and Public Relations with USA Hockey that this December, NHL Network will broadcast every Team USA game from the World Junior Championships in Ottawa.
