UND Hockey Blog ---- Danny Kristo, a second-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in 2008, says he will be on a team that he thinks can sneak up on some people.
“I thought about it and looked it over and obviously could have done either or,” Kristo said. “But I feel like with (Aaron) Dell coming back Bloody (Ben Blood) coming back, that will be huge for us. Knighter (Corban Knight) will be back. He’s one of the most underrated guys in the league. I think we will have a strong team next year and we can surprise a lot of people. Personally, there is still a lot I can accomplish.”
After a slow start in terms of production, Kristo was one of UND’s top point producers come the end of the season. In his last 16 games, he had 23 points. If you average that rate over a full season, it would have equated to 61 or 62 points.

Even the Experts were wrong: Kyle Okposo to stay at Minnesota
It would be an understatement if I said that I along with many others were shocked that Kyle Okposo decided to come back to the Minnesota Gophers for his Sophmore season. Everywhere you read on the internet or everyone you talked to said they thought he was leaving and signing with the NY Islanders. Heck, even hockey guru Lou Nannie said in his interview with Dan Barrerio last Tuesday that he was shocked that Kyle was coming back, in fact the week before Lou said he was 95% sure that Kyle was going to sign with the Islanders. I guess we can say that it has been a summer of surprises.
Everyone thought he was gone
Kyle Okposo had been considered as good as gone. Instead, the Gophers' chances of contending for a national championship next season got a lot better Wednesday when Okposo announced he would return for his sophomore season.
"I could have signed and gone to camp to try to make the team," Okposo said, "but in talking to them I felt it was better to develop for another year at the University of Minnesota. I'm still a kid, and [the NHL] is always going to be there."

Duncan and Chorney will return for Junior Year
Really Good News
Herald Article on Duncan and Chorney
Two of the Fighting Sioux hockey star players have announced that they are going to return for the 2007-2008 season. There is is a huge sigh of relief in Grand Forks today. Ryan Duncan and Taylor Chorney have decided to put their professional careers on hold and return to their college team. During a time of season know for depressing announcements, this is really good news and their presence on the team will welcomed with open arms.
Expect some Defections
The Fighting Sioux are still waiting for decisions of super sophomores T.J. Oshie and Jonathon Toews, I am sure we will get their decision soon. I think in all reality we can expect Toews to announce that he is going to forgo his final two years of eligibility to play for the Chicago Black Hawks. I would also imagine T.J. Oshie must be at least 50/50 on whether he is going to return or not. I am hoping that Oshie will return for one more season. I don't know if the Sioux will lose anyone else.
