Analysis: I think's laughable that Notre Dame and Michigan remain in the top 15. BSU with it’s split also remain in the top ten.

BallHype: hype it up!

  1. I don't have too much of a problem with BSU being #8, they probably deserve more of a #10 ranking though. They played 1 and 2/3 good games and just blew the third period on Saturday.

  2. I have a problem with the Beavers even being ranked at all. They play a cup cake schedule and they have 1 quality win all season, which they got on Sunday at Minnesota. Look at their schedule people, its high school girls competition.

Big move by Bucky Badger. Not sure how or why though, they only swept Anchorage at home. Huge series next weekend between Denver and North Dakota.

  4. BSU is a legit team and I don't have a problem with their ranking. I have a problem with Michigan and Notre Dame being ranked so high.

  5. My guess is that WCHAdominates believes that only WCHA teams should be in the rankings everyweek, since no other conference can come close to their level.

I guess a win and tie at Northern Michigan who beat UMD and Notre Dame at UMD and Notre Dame counts as part of the cupcake schedule. But I guess CCHA teams don't count for anything against his almighty WCHA.

It is the only thing that I am not excited about with Bemidji joining the WCHA, we will be in the same conference with WCHA elitist fans like you.

  6. That is not what I believe there Chucky. In no way, shape, or form did I say that only WCHA teams should be ranked. Hockey East has some solid teams, as does the CCHA (Miami in particular, Michigan State as well). However, these are the teams that BSU has beaten:
    Robert Morris at home twice
    Air Force at home twice
    Alabama Huntsville at home twice
    N. Michigan on the road twice
    Minnesota split on the road

Sit there and tell me that this schedule is worthy of being ranked #8 in the country. If you think that, you're just as stupid as the poll voters. They have Miami, Ohio State, Duluth, Mankato, and Omaha on the schedule this season as well. If they put up a .500 record or better against them, then they are worthy of a #15 ranking, certainly not #7 or #8.

And just for the record, the WCHA has 37 national titles. The next closest conference has 14, that's Hockey East. You let me know when someone catches up.

  7. Let's see your rankings then please, go one through twenty and please try and justify putting teams with losing or .500 records in the top 20. I am not doubting how good the WCHA is, I have been watching their games since birth, but I bet the WCHA players respect other conferences a hell of a lot more than you do and they play against them.

  8. WCHA dominates: if you're going by current alignment, the CCHA has 17

  9. Also, where do you get the 37 from?

  10. I was under the impression the WCHA had 30 championships.

  11. Go to WCHA.com and click on The WCHA at the top left. Read just one or two paragraphs and you will see.

The WCHA is also the only conference to place all four teams in the Frozen Four in NCAA hockey history. We all know that will never ever happen again because the other conferences complained about it and now they pit WCHA teams against each other in the regionals to knock each other out instead.
