The lone Bright spot from the Frozen Four.

This is one of the few bright spots from the Frozen Four for North Dakota. Jake Marto gave us a few glimpses of what we can expect in the future. Jake Marto the 2005 North Dakota Mr Hockey was a game breaker on the blue line when he played at Central high school, we are starting to see that same person in college with the Fighting Sioux.

  2. Nice to see someone playing with a little heart and some pride in that emblem on the front. Atta boy, Jake! Has anyone found something that helps get rid of this awful taste we all have in our mouths?

  3. that was a nice shot, I think if anything this game should burn in the Sioux players that will be back, this should leave a bad taste in their mouth. B.C. isn't going to keep beating UND forever and they have to get the next win against the Eagles out of their system.

  4. The 3rd period that wasn't and resulting tie in Boston early in the season haunted the Sioux all season long. It tipped several Pairwise comparisons right up to the very end. The prior history, especially the last two years, loomed large. The players I visited with at the World Curling Championships this weekend were working hard trying to get the bad taste out of their mouths, too. Is that why some have switched from beer? Hak has his work cut out for him redeveloping on- and off-ice credibility and respect this coming year. However, he has my full faith and confidence -- one lapse does not a class act destroy!

  5. By on- and off-ice respect, I was referring to role-model players and the program overall, NOT Coach Hakstol personally. He payed his penance, but I hope he has not unintentionally lowered some overall standards. They can be raised back up, however, and he is the one to do it!

  6. The latest incident really doesn't effect Oshie and Chorney becaue they are going to be gone to the Pros and you kind of wonder if the Police department and the Media are kind of over zealous with the hockey team.
That being said, I wonder if the Univeristy and the new AD is going to tell Hakstol to get a better handle on the boys. Do you suspend a player that is going to back for one game because he got a loud party citation? There are regular citizens that get those things and it wouldn't stop me from getting a job in town here. Your right though there is a lot of work to do in the next year.
