Friday Links – it’s the playoffs…

Fighting Sioux Defenseman Ben Blood said that, "the playoffs are the best time of year, you play get to end other team's seasons."  No truer words have been spoken.

For the coaches, players and the fans it's also a time of finality. Magical seasons are ended; tickets to the Frozen Four are punched, while others teams dreams are broken, hockey careers come to an end and life moves on.

There is the sweet taste of victory and the agony of defeat.

Here are some links of interest around the world of college hockey.

Brian Gomez from the Colorado Springs Gazette, seems to be a little befuddled that Rylan Schwartz wasn’t picked for any of the WCHA teams.  [Eye of the Tigers]

To be honest with  you Brian, one could make that argument for quite a few players that were left off of the ballets. In my opinion, there are two guys from UND (Danny Kristo, Corbin Knight) that also deserved to be on one of the All-WCHA teams, that’s just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. I sure any of these players would trade in their spot on a All-WCHA team for an NCAA title.

Roman Augustoviz from the Red Star and Sickle breaks down this weekend’s playoff series. Looks like Roman is predicting a bunch of three games series with no shockers. [Roman Empire]

Running with the Dog's favorite beat writer, Brad Eliot Schlossman has some good reading for this weekend’s series against the BSU Beavers. UND men's hockey: Coming a long way and Bemidji brings quiet confidence.

Not to be confused with the Pseudo Reporter Patrick C. Miller - Pat Miller from the Bemidji Pioneer, has a story from the Bemidji Beavers point of view. [Bemidji Pioneer]

Rob White from the Omaha World Herald has this to say about UNO and their playoff series against the SCSU Huskies… Mavs hope for better puck luck

Where is Michael Chambers when you need him? Adam Dater has a story on Sam Brittain. University of Denver goalie Sam Brittain is more than happy to share the load...  [Denver Post]

Over on the WCHA blog at USCHO; Tyler Buckentine and Brian Halverson are predicting a UND sweep. [USCHO.COM]
