Where are they now - Justin Moody

Recently, I interviewed former Grand Forks Central forward Justin Moody. Justin plays in NAHL for the Brooking’s Blizzard. Justin is currently second on the Brookings Blizzard with (2g-4a—6tps).

Goon: Have you had any schools contract you? If so which ones?

Justin Moody: After the showcase a lot of D3 Colleges and nothing serious D1 yet.

Goon: What line are you projected to play on this season?

Justin Moody: I have been on first line as a right winger so far and playing a lot of power play and penalty kill.

Goon: Any Familiar teammates on the Blizzard that people from Grand Forks, ND might recognize?

Justin Moody: Yeah, Casey Purpur from Grand Forks, Derek Sand from West Fargo, and Eric Brenk from Moorhead from around that area.

Goon: Tell us about your play last season? Last season you were 6th on the Blizzard in scoring, you played in 59 games scoring (13g-20a—33pts). Would you call that a breakout season for you?

Justin Moody: I was happy with how I played last season. I was more of a role playing forward. I was an energy guy. Our penalty kill was top 3 in the league all year and I was usually on the first penalty kill unit. Hopefully last year set me up for an even better year this year.

Goon: So tell us about your first fight in Junior Hockey? Do you drop the gloves on a regular basis?

Justin Moody: My first fight was my rookie year up in Canada playing in the MJHL for the Selkirk Steelers. It was over quick and I didn't get hit at all and my fist was sore but I really don't remember what happened to be honest. I wouldn't say a regular basis at all maybe once or twice a year.
