s/t to Brad Elliot Schlossman had this on his blog this morning. You can listen to the Audio by clicking on this link. Nanne, Judd and Dubay start right up with Lou Nanne during hour three of the September 12, 2013 broadcast…
“I’m just sick about losing North Dakota and Duluth,” Nanne said, adding that the Gophers would still get to play the in-state schools in nonconference matchups with the North Star College Cup. “To lose North Dakota and not play for three years. . . to lose Denver and Colorado. . . I gotta tell you, I’m sick about it, because to me, the biggest rivalry Minnesota’s ever had is North Dakota.”
I know that this has been beat to death, but when someone like Lou Nanne makes a comment like this it has some merit. Nanne is an icon in Minnesota when it comes to hockey and when he talks people listen to him.

All Parise all of the time...
Today, NHL hockey fans from Pittsburgh, Minnesota and New Jersey are wondering where Zach Parise is going to sign. It looks like it's going to be another night before we find out where he is going to go.
Like most fans, I have been hovering by the computer all day long, waiting on the edge of my seat wondering where former Fighting Sioux All-American and New Jersey Devil Zach Parise is going to land, after Zach signs a new contract, he is going to need to buy a wheel barrow to take his money to the bank.
According to Russo, "the Wild are still in it."
I had a few people ask me what I think of Parise flying back to Minnesota tomorrow and I am not sure what we would even make out of it. I honestly don't feel all of that confident that Parise is going to sign with the Wild and that the Devils could have put a lot of pressure on Zach and that he is torn and having a tough time with the decision.
According to Lou Nanne, "he [Parise] is not going to Jersey, there is no possible way that they're in.
Here is what Lou Nanne had to say about the whole Zach Parise story. I always take what Lou Nanne says with a grain of salt.
"A signing of this magnitude should takes place in the area where he is going to play and the team would want him there," Nanne said. "I just can't fathom that he coming home to Minnesota to tell us that he is going to Pittsburgh."

Nanne on Barreiro's show
Dan Barreiro had former North Stars General Manager Lou Nanne on his radio show bumper to bumper on Tuesday and was talking about the Stanley Cup Playoffs and hockey and of course Zach Parise.
It would appear that Nanne seems to think that Parise and Sutter have a good chance on being members of the Minnesota Wild. I think we will have to wait and see...
Nanne – ‘Good chance Parise’ signs with the Wild
First off, color me cynical, if not almost suspicious that Lou Nanne is on record after conveniently talking to the Wild Wild owner Craig Leipold that he believes that Parise is going to sign with the Minnesota Wild.
Judd Zulgad, 1500ESPN.com --- Former North Stars president and general manager Lou Nanne confirmed as much on Tuesday during his weekly appearance on "Reusse and Mackey" on 1500 ESPN. Nanne said that after talking to Wild owner Craig Leipold last week he believes, "the Wild are going to throw the kitchen sink" at the winger in order to land him. When Parise asked about his future the Devils captain wasn’t ready to talk about the issue.
Nanne said he thinks the fact the financially strapped Devils lost in the Cup finals make it less likely that Parise will stick with that organization. Parise has spent his seven-year NHL career with New Jersey and served as the team's captain.
"I was under the belief that he would have to win the Cup to come to Minnesota until I talked to Craig Leipold last week," Nanne said. "I've gotta tell you, the Wild are going to throw the kitchen sink at him. I think there's a good chance he ends up in Minnesota, because I don't see anybody in the National Hockey League willing to give as much to Parise as the Wild are going to be willing to give. So I would not be surprised if Zach Parise came home."
Nanne went on to say that the Wild will pursue Parise and Nashville defenseman Ryan Suter, who also will be a free agent on July 1.
“I’m not going to talk about that,” the Devils captain said. “I’m not going to talk about that.”Now that the Stanley Cup Finals are over the six-10 million dollar question is where is former Fighting Sioux All-American forward Zach Parise is going to sign after the July first? I have seen where the Rangers, Redwings, Wild, Bruins and Kings as potential teams where he might end up. I wouldn’t rule New Jersey out either; apparently the New Jersey Devils made 32 million dollars into their coffers off of their Stanley Cup Playoff run.

Nanne Rau hit not worthy of a one game suspension
Check out Lou Nanne's comments at the 33:15 mark of the podcast.
Lou Nanne had this to say on the Kyle Rau’s hit on Jason Zucker.
“The one penalty that I thought was out of whack was the one that they kept Rau out of the game Saturday. I think the referees did that because they probably felt that Zucker wasn’t going to play, which he didn’t that next night, and they were just trying to even things out,” Nanne Said.
“You could have given him the penalty that they gave him without throwing him out of the next game, I believe. I think they could have given him a boarding penalty and kept everyone happy.”
Barreiro asked Nanne if he felt the Rau hit was worthy of a one game suspension.
No! Definitely not...
