(Video) Ryan Garbutt hit on Dustin Penner (Tweets by Penner)

Dallas Stars forward Ryan Garbutt (cool name by the way) has a in-person hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety for this hit on Ducks forward Dustin Penner. I don't know, it's a grey area hit.

My first impression when I saw the hit, I thought this is charging, Garbutt came from a cross the ice to hit Penner. The video isn't very good though. It seems like there has been one of these questionable hits every night, in the last week.

There has been a bit of a stir about the hit on Twitter today as well.

Blackhawks vs Kings; Blackhawks lead series 3-1

The L.A. Kings lose for the first time at home during the 2013 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Chicago Blackhawks make L.A. Kings all-world goalie Jonathan Quick look human, the goal by Hossa was an absolute blast, in fact, Quick is probably still looking for the puck.

Scoring for the Blackhawks: Bryan Bickell (8), Marian Hossa (7) and Patrick Kane (3) find the twine and score big goals for the Blackhawks. Scoring For the L.A. Kings: Slava Voynov(6) and Dustin Penner (3).

Bryan Bickell is an unrestricted free agent in the offseason and has had a big 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs scoring (8g-3—11pts), you would think that he’s going to be getting a big raise in the offseason. According to capgeek.com Bickell is  making $541,667.00

Did the Kings get screwed?

Wow! Looks like a blown call that went in the San Jose Sharks favor. I am not a fan of either team, but I want to see the games called correctly. It appears that Dustin Penner had scored a goal.

NHL looking into Coyotes' antics

You had to wonder after listening to some the comments that were made by the Phoenix Coyotes - during post game interviews - if there was going to be repercussions from the NHL. I understand that the refs weren't as good as they could have been.

Pierre LeBrun, ESPN.COM --- The NHL is further investigating the postgame actions and comments of some Phoenix Coyotes players after their season-ending, overtime loss in the Western Conference finals, league executive vice president Colin Campbell told ESPN.com on Thursday.

The league is not pleased with some of what happened after Dustin Penner's overtime winner Tuesday night for the Kings, including Coyotes center Martin Hanzal skating aggressively toward a referee and making a gesture, goalie Mike Smith throwing his stick and Keith Yandle's postgame comment in which he suggested it was no surprise the calls didn't go his team's way given the similar colors of the refs' and Kings' uniforms.

"Their actions were unprofessional and unacceptable," Campbell told ESPN.com

Most of us that watched the games this season during the Stanley Cup Playoffs realize that there have been a lot of questionable calls made on the ice in "all" of the series to date. That being said, there is a level of professionalism that NHL hockey players are supposed to exhibit and some of the Coyotes' post game comments were over-the-top and questionable.

Keith Yandle's puzzling comments

I had to post this video because I couldn't believe my ears the first time I heard it, this is down right silly. The comments by Keith Yandle are almost black helicopter conspiracy theory stuff -  you can't make it up -  it's right here. You can almost imagine secret agents repelling out of a small black helicopter onto the ground in Yandles backyard.

Wow! Wait, What? I mean talk about being classy in the post game comments, the Phoenix Coyotes lost the game and the series against the Kings because they were a step late to the puck all series long, the Coyotes had no answer for the Los Angeles Kings speed trough the neutral zone. One of the strong points that I saw for the  Kings was the way they played a high pressure game, the Kings' fore-check was relentless they were all over the Coyotes every game.

The Coyotes sound like a bunch of whiners

I will be the first one to admit that I hate it when my favorite team loses - that's sports - that's the way the puck bounces sometimes. Last night, the Phoenix Coyotes would have been better off to congratulate the Los Angeles Kings and move on. Instead, the Coyotes failed to take the high road and used their post game press conference/interviews as an opportunity to sound off and blame the officials for the results of their series. In my opinion, the Coyotes came off last night as a bunch of entitlement whiners. I think their post game comments other wise taint an amazing season by the Coyotes.

Oshie lights up Penner

We could run through a plethora of cliches but there is an old saying, get off the track if you don't want to get run over by the train. Former Fighting Sioux forward T.J. Oshie absolutely runs over L.A. Kings forward Dustin Penner with a legal green light hit. There is no reason for the Kings forward Mike Richards to jump Oshie because this is is a text book clean hit, there is nothing dirty about this hit.

The Tweet that some took issue with

Apparently the LA Kings have apologized for this witty tweet. I don't understand why they should. I like many other people, thought the tweet was funny and I agree with the tweet. I just hope the Kings can eliminate the Canucks so we don't have to watch their antics and their diving up and down the ice through out the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

“We encourage our digital team to be creative, interactive and to apply a sense of humour whenever possible. To anyone who found it offensive we sincerely apologize,” Mike Altieri, the Kings’ vice-president, communications and content, said in an e-mail message Thursday afternoon.
