Sioux 8 DU 3

If I had to describe the game in two words it would be; total domination. The Sioux out worked, out hustled and out scored the first place Denver Pioneers. The Fighting Sioux needed to come out strong and set the tone early, they did and scored four goals in the first period and never looked back.

No power outage for the Sioux

At the beginning of the season the Fighting Sioux were having trouble scoring goals, in their last 5 games the Sioux have scored; 6, 6, 3, 5, 8 the Sioux are averaging over 5.6 goals per game. There isn't just one line scoring like Sioux teams of years past. On this year's team there are four lines contributing and scoring goals. Everyone seems to be buying into their role. There are 15 guys on the Sioux roster with double figures in points. That folks is balanced scoring. When we say the Sioux are winning games, the Sioux aren't winning close games they are beating good teams and great goaltenders by big margins. The Fighting Sioux are jumping on teams early and often. The Fighting Sioux remind me of the piranas with their current play.

How big is the return of Big Joe Finley? Finely 1g-3a-4pts on the night was a major offensive force to be reckoned with. Ryan Duncan continues to contribute at a high level as he had 1g-2a-3pts. Jake Marto continues his torrid pace 1g-2a-3 pts and has six points in three games.
