There seems to be some question who's pairwise rankings are correct. I will let the math whizzes duke it out. Also, we're going to find out in March anyway. Apparently, CHN thinks there number's right. Recently, I have talked to Brad Schlossman and he told me that Jim Dahls is a PWR guru and we shouldn't doubt his site's calculations.
My first look inside the Pairwise for this year - lots to chew on for the stat heads. ... http://t.co/GnbBJUlgYU

Oh Boy, more outdoor hockey. According to CHN. Bowling Green and Robert Morris will play in an outdoor game next season on January, 3, 2015, at the home of the Toledo Mud Hens minor league baseball team. Yay!

What the Heck is this?
We're liking the new addition to the U.S. Military uniforms! What do you think @GoldytheGopher? #SkiUMah pic.twitter.com/0GB3eUOgfi

Being an ex-veteran, I am not sure that I like this at all. It doesn't look good. Not with an military uniform. The US military's uniform is very serious. The rather austere décor of the US military uniform is softened by a goofy rodent tail. I am all for putting the tails on the cheer leaders though.

The Delusional Rantings of Bison fan
Check out the delusional ranting and raving of John Neis, originally I had incorrectly said this was the delusional rantings of Lakes Buffoon as I call him, yeah that one that got himself in trouble not too long ago. This isn't him. I must apologize to Samuel Paul Humann aka Lakes Bison. Don't worry he's still deranged too.
That being said, as long as the AG School aka NDSU keeps winning, you're going to see the belligerence of fans like this out in full force. Just thought you might like to see this, it's definitely funny. NDSU is good, but there have been better teams in FCS Football.
@wesncc1701 @scotthennen In this situation absolutely. Ohio St should never be forced to play a lesser team at their stadium

Gopher Freshman Gabe Guertler Suspended Indefinitely for DWI Arrest
Well what do we have here? Looks like incoming University of Minnesota Gopher freshman forward Gabe Guertler has been suspended indefinitely for a DWI arrest. You can see the court on-line record here. You can bet that the Gophers coaching staff didn't want to deal with this issue this fall.
USCHO -- The team suspension will be reevaluated in November, a school statement released Sunday said. “While we are still gathering information at this time, we take this matter seriously and feel a suspension is warranted,” Gophers coach Don Lucia said in the statement. “We will continue to monitor the situation and will handle the matter internally.”The former Fargo Force forward Guertler is the first player from Florida to commit to play hockey for the Minnesota Gophers. Guertler played two seasons for the Fargo Force of the USHL and scored (40g-39a—79 pts) in 117 regular season games.
Gabe Guertler's indefinite suspension announced on Sun. comes a day after the 18-year-old fr. forward was stopped by U of M police.

Guertler was charged with driving while impaired, a misdemeanor. He will appear in court Oct. 11, same day U opens the season without him

UND Football: Dexter Albrecht explains ‘30 Minutes or Less'
I was able to ask Dexter
Albrecht the Director of Ticket
Sales & Promotions at the University of North Dakota, a few questions about
the University of North Dakota’s ‘30 Minutes or Less’... Which UND is running on July
31, 2013. It's a season tickets promotion for UND football, where if you order
season tickets and you live in the Greater Grand Forks Metro Area and you don’t
have them delivered to your home or business by the UND football
staffers, student-athletes and athletic department officials in 30 minutes or less, they’ll
be free.
Eric Burton: So, you can guarantee that every UND fans living in the Greater Grand
Forks Metro Area that orders a Season Ticket will have it in 30 minutes or
less?
Dexter Albrecht : I don’t think I can 100% guarantee
that, and that is kind of the hook for this. You can get to most places in town
in 30 minutes or less, but we’re limited on cars, drivers, and coaches so if we
get swamped with orders it will be difficult to get tickets to everyone. We
could be giving some away or a lot away depending on how many orders we get.
The main reason we wanted to do with this was to create awareness
to the program, and the great home schedule we have. Last year football
attendance increased over 1300 fans per game and currently we have already sold
close to as many season tickets as where we finished last year, so we’re on
pace for some great ticket numbers. Along with that we traditionally have a lot
of people that wait until the week of the first game to purchase season
tickets. We wanted to give those people a reason not to wait to purchase their
season tickets, as well as maybe get some people who were on the fence about
getting them.
If you break it down with the schedule we have I really think you
will have a hard time finding a better value for your entertainment dollar in
the state of North Dakota, Southern Manitoba, or Northwest Minnesota than
season tickets for as low as $75 a seat for 7 home football games with 5 of
them being against ranked opponents.
Eric Burton: Also, will the team deliver season the tickets to a
person’s place of work if they want; if that person lives in the Greater Grand
Forks Metro Area?
Dexter Albrecht: We will deliver these tickets to anywhere that our fans would
like, as long as it’s in Grand Forks/East Grand Forks city limits. Home, work,
or your own business it doesn’t matter to us.
Eric Burton: Taking a look at the UND football schedule, it looks
like UND’s schedule is again one of the toughest home schedules in FCS Football?
Dexter Albrecht: It does look like a tough home schedule and I know the coaches
and players are fired up for the season. While it’s a tough home schedule it’s
also a very attractive schedule for fans.
To give you an idea of how attractive the schedule is for no just
UND fans but casual college football fans, we have actually had multiple people
who have purchased UND season tickets this year that have also told me they also
have football season tickets for North Dakota State, and Montana State. I’ve
also had people tell me they are fans of NDSU, Montana, and Montana St. first,
but they live in the area and can’t make all of those schools games purchase
season tickets with us because of the value of the tickets and the great home
schedule we have. To me that’s great, we’ll take those fans and try and convert
then to UND fans, or fans of both schools.
I would also guess that we will probably have some of these fans
of other schools who won’t purchase season tickets with us, but they will still
come to a game or two of ours because of all the big games on our schedule.
That’s a credit to the Big Sky Conference as well as schools like NDSU, SDSU,
and USD. There are a lot of people in the state and region that cheer for
success for all of the local Universities and casual college football fans in
the Dakotas do not have very far to go anymore to see great college football
week in and week out and that’s exciting for everyone.
I would also say that statement translate into all sports
(basketball, volleyball, etc) with the four Dakota schools all being Division
one now. With us being in a different conference we offer fans of those schools
an opportunity to see schools they don’t normally see in the Missouri Valley
Conference, and the Summit League which makes us a little unique and I think
that is attractive to casual fans. They all know who Montana, Montana State and
Eastern Washington are in football or who Weber State is in Men’s Basketball.
Goon’s World would like to thank Dexter
Albrecht for stopping by and answering a few questions. UND opens the 2013
season against Valparaiso August 29, 2013,
at 7:00 p.m. at the Alerus Center.
Season-ticket packages start at $75 per seat and
are also available for purchase any time at undsports.com.

Bison ducking UND in football?
This doesn’t pass the smell test. Does anyone believe the bravo sierra that they’re shoveling in Fargo right now? So, NDSU doesn’t want to pay UND in football because; they’re still whining about UND not playing NDSU when they made the transition to division I FCS while UND was still Division II.
If not, then what the heck is stopping this historic match-up from happening? It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to realize that the NDSU and UND football games of the 1990’s were some epic battles.
If we’re to believe that hype from the Bison fans, NDSU would blow UND out of the water and hardly break a sweat.
NDSU is fresh off a second FCS NCAA title in a row and they can’t seem to find a date to play their brother to the north who was a mediocre 5-6 last year.

Jeff Kolpack, INFORUM --- The Bison open the 2013 season at Kansas State and host Montana State the following week. Kansas State played in the Fiesta Bowl and Montana State was a highly ranked Division I Football Championship Subdivision team all season.I just don’t get it; you could sell a big arena if UND and NDSU were playing again… You can’t tell me that the Missouri Valley Conference has match-ups that would top the UND versus NDSU match-up. Heck, let’s make this happen, let's restore this once historic rivalry in the overgrown Quonset hut known as the Fargo Dome. Oh yeah, should I remind people that UND still has the Nickle Trophy in case anyone is wondering.
“Right now, we’re looking for a type of opponent based on Kansas State and Montana State,” Taylor said.
UND athletic director Brian Faison said the thought of scheduling NDSU is currently a moot point because it does not officially have a schedule opening.
“But we would be willing to talk,” he said.
UND has 11 games and Faison said he is comfortable with the current setup and is not actively looking for a 12th opponent. Teams are allowed 12 games next year because of the way the calendar is set up.
