Another reason to stay in school

Here's a perfect example of why college hockey players shouldn't be in a hurry to leave college and play professional hockey. Even if they're a first round draft choice.

Four years after leaving college, former Minnesota Golden Gopher Jordan Schroeder has played in a mere 56 NHL games and scored an unimpressive (6g-9a—15pts). I know that hind sight is 20/20, but I do  wonder if Schroeder would still leave school early, knowing what he knows now? Stay in school and finish that degree.

  1. You're right, a lot of these guys should stay in school longer. At least Schroeder's played in 56 NHL games so far which is 56 games more than the combined total for Brett Hextall and Jason Gregoire.

Not surprised about Hextall, he always seemed to me to be just another ham and egger but Gregoire's failure to crack the NHL really surprises me. The guy was really a great player for the Sioux but for some reason it's never translated to the show.

Do you think Gregoire has a future in the NHL?
