North Dakota once referred to as a bunch of goon’s by fans of various WCHA teams is ranked 53rd over-all nationally for penalty minutes. That means, out of 59 NCAA teams UND is ranked 53 and only has 50+ team above them that have more penalty minutes, the halos from Minnesota are ranked 59th.
WCHA teams in the top 10 for penalty minutes are UMD 4th, Minnesota State 5th, Denver 7th. Rounding out the top 20 are Michigan Tech 17th and Saint Cloud and Bemidji State are tied for 20th.
According to the Boston Hockey Blog, the now famous Ben Rosen Defenseman/forward was benched last night for breaking a team rule, Parker said.
