Looking at the shot charts from last night’s games, you can see that UND’s defense limited Wisconsin to 17 shots on net. That’s no small feat based on some of the players that they have in their lineup.
The most impressive fact of the night was that UND kept All World/WCHA defenseman Justin Schultz off of the score sheet. Schultz got "zero" points last night and that's no small feat. Schultz has been held pointless only six times in 25 games this season.
In the third period Wisconsin only had three shots on net. That's pretty good play by UND’s defense.
I think that people forget how big of a hole UND has dug it’s self out. UND started out the season going an unimpressive 3-7-1. Since the lack luster loss on November 20th, 2011 in Bemidji, Minnesota UND has gone an impressive 10-3-1.
