Sioux and Mavericks up next...

[s/t Puckato] Here are some highlights of the UND Fighting Sioux's next opponent the Minnesota State University Mankato Mavericks, aka the Purple Cows. I expect the Sioux forwards to get more opportunities in the slot than the Gopher forwards did and I expect the Sioux will get the Maverick goaltender Phil Cook's feet moving more than the Gophers did this past weekend. This should get you in the mood for this weekend's series.

The Sioux have had a successful winning streak against the Mavericks as of late the Sioux have won 5 straight, and have an impressive 12-1-1 record against the Mavericks the last 14 games. Do records mean anything this weekend? Nope! Not at all. It does not guarantee success for this weekend series against the Mavericks, however, the Sioux should be ready for tough opponent that plays every game like it’s a wounded animal. The Sioux better expect to be ready for a buzz saw where ever inch of the ice is contested. I also think that anything less that 3-4 points is unacceptable.
