Don Cherry on Flyers hack Dan Carcillo
This video is for Redwing77 as Don "grapes" Cherry addresses the diving and embellishment of the Flyers top agitator (I refer to them as hacks) Dan Carcillo. It's no mystery Don Cherry is not impressed with the antics of Flyers hack Daniel Carcillo because he has addressed this subject in his last two episodes. Don Cherry hits it out of the park with his spot on assessment and Carcillo on how he is a bully and cheapens the game with his soccer like mentality. Carcillo loves to act tough when he is dealing with players that he knows don't or wont fight. Also, notice how Cherry calls Carcillo the wrong name. Classic way of disrespecting someone by mispronouncing their name.

Gosh.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Don Cherry on that (though if he's going to use the word "incensed" he should probably have asked the definition of the word BEFORE using the word rather than after but I digress...and yeah, he did use the word correctly but...).
I didn't notice the diving antics but WOW! I just thought Carcillo was cheap.
One thing I WILL disagree with on Cherry is that he said that Savard started the scrap. No, he didn't. He was in the middle of it and was one of the two chief "scrummers" but the instigator? DANIEL CARCILLO.
Cherry missed the boat on this one folks. He missed the two handed slashes (TWO OF THEM) that Carcillo handed Savard before Savard made that shot. The first one hit Savard's side and the second the wrist. Lucky for Savard, I believe the stick struck pads both times.
CARCILLO started this scrum and SAVARD got the penalty.
JEEBUS! The Broadstreet Bullies are dead and buried. These guys are the Broadstreet Bozos for coming to Carcillo's defense and standing up for him.
Now, eliminate Carcillo please, Bruins and then have the Habs eliminate Cooke and we've got ourselves a FANTASTIC Final Four.
For the record if Bill McCreary was on his game, Savard still would have gone but so would have Carcillo... 2 minutes for slashing and 2 for whatever Savard went for.
ReplyDeleteI love Donn Cherry, he is one of my favorite Hockey Personalities.
