How did I do part two - pre season rewind.

Here was the pre-season poll that I did for the now defunct Illegal Curve. The teams that are lined out are the ones that didn’t make the NCAA tourney. I was put "On the Radar" for not putting UMass Lowell higher and that I picked Vermont 7th. Ha! How did that work for them? While I did expect more from UVM at least they made the NCAA tourney. Unfortunately; it was probably at the expense of Ferris State and UMD.

1.) Denver University – 27-9-4
2.) Miami University – 27-7-7
3.) Notre Dame – 13-17-8

5.) Boston University – 18-17-3
6.) University of Michigan – 25-17-1

  1. I can't honestly believe that BU and Notre Dame were as bad as they were this year.

Just the same, I thought Air Force would be better too. RIT is good and they are a newcomer to watch, sure, but I thought Air Force could've handled them.

Maybe it's because I like what Serratore has done with the AFA program. I dunno.

But Notre Dame and BU. Wow. Talk about bad years.

  2. If I am not mistaken RIT isn't that good either because they have a brutal out of conference record. They were like 0-6 until they won 4games in their Conference championship. The AHA has an 8-41-4 record against the “Big Four”. I think some of the AHA teams are over glorified division three teams (I don’t mean it in negative way either they aren’t even close to the other big four leagues) and would lose to the best in Division three. Air Force was 0-6 in out of conference play as well.

Look for RMU or NU to win the AHA next season.

  3. RIT and Air Force kind of remind me of Bemidji State: a cup cake conference schedule and a mediocre non-conference schedule.

It looks like you underestimated the Huskies too Goon. Course, they could easily move their all-time NCAA tourney record to 0-9 on Friday evening against Northern Michigan...

  4. WCHAdominates, I haven't seen much from the Huskies that lead me to believe they are going to make a run or even win a game in the NCAA tourney. The minute the Huskies face an opponent that checks or is physical they fold and shy away from the corners.

That's why I wasn't worried when your teams scored two goals in the opening minute. Your team played us five times and I honestly don't think your team was ever the better team in any of the games. The 4-3 loss at SCSU was all Dan Dunn and a couple of bad bounces against the Sioux.

  5. BSU is a lot better than AFA and RIT, their league got their butts kicks by the CHA this season. BSU beat Miami, the Huskies did not. RMU beat the Miami and actually swept them.
