Little bit of reality here.

This is for all of those Husky fans that are beating your chest about the SCSU Huskies and how great they are. Let's take a closer look at their schedule and who they have played. It's not impressive.

While SCSU may have an impressive record 12-2-2 the last sixteen games the Huskies haven't really played anyone that is very good in their impressive streak, except the C.C. Tigers. Looking closer in fact the Huskies have feasted on the weak sisters of the poor. UAA (X4), Brown (X2), MTU (X2), at Quinnipiac (X2), Minnesota (X2) and C.C. (X4) they were 1-2-1 against C.C.

  1. That's what I love about this blog...playing devil's advocate against the Goon himself!

I'll see you next weekend Goon.

  2. I've seen them play in person and I think they've got some talent. Granted, it's always weird for me to watch them since their style is the opposite of the Mavs.

Anyways, I don't think you can look at the last games you have noted and say they're unimpressive. You need to look at the whole year, the quality of the plays in the game and so on.

I'll go on record saying that I think SCSU will sweep this weekend. I'll also go on record saying that the Sioux fans need to quit whining about the Marvin hit that took out Genoway and that's why your season is sucking. If you have only 1 player on a team that makes the team...then you've got issues. With all the talent on the Sioux team and having a decent coach, you can't blame it all on one guy.

I would say the biggest focus on your bad season should be ALL of the injuries. The injury bug hit your team this season and it sucks but we've all had it happen to our teams.

  3. Amy, I like how some of these other fans tell UND to get over the hit. Chay Genoway is one of the better players in the WCHA before his injury, taking him out of the lineup.

I would ask fans of other programs how they would feel if one of their top players, say a Roe or Lasch was taken out of SCSU's line up or Jordan Schroeder out of Minnesota's lineup or Rhett Rakhshani out of DU's line up.

Imagine if they had to watch one of their top players/potential all-American taken off the ice after a gutless, dirty hit like Chay suffered.

That bush league hit also took an All-American Defenseman out of UND's line up and you can't replace that type of player by just inserting another player in the lineup. That bush league hit might have cost UND a home series and maybe a spot in the NCAA playoffs.

Lastly, imagine the complaining Gwozdecky, Lucia or Motzko would have done if the person that took out their top player only suffered a one game suspension. There would be hell to pay.

  4. Remember all of the complaining that Lucia did after Portwood took out Leddy with a legal hit.

  5. Wait a second, the Huskies are bad because they beat the teams that good teams would be expected to beat? Nice logic.

FACT: The Huskies have the 5th best record with the 6th toughest schedule. They are currently BETTER than the Sioux in every measure and are FAVORED to win this coming weekend.

What are you trying to do, deflate the Husky fans or console yourself?

  6. I am saying College Hockey Recruit Exchange that SCSU hasn't played anyone impressive since they split with DU before the first of the year. C.C. is 5-5 in their last 10.
I am also bored today so I figured I would go fishing and see if I could catch someone. I was successful. Favored to win doesn't mean much, I don't think UND is going going to mail any losses in either. SCSU better be ready to strap it on because the Sioux are going to bring it.

  7. I can sympathize with any team having a player injured. That's not the point. What they need to get over is blaming Marvin for their team's complete meltdown of a season (as UND fans seem to be seeing this). It was one player and one bad choice. A program of UND's stature and the talent of the players should not fall apart with ONE player. In fact, I would argue that it hasn't. It's the combination of all the injuries...not just Genoway being out on a poor choice by Marvin.

Also, I just want to point out that you're talking out of both sides of your mouth. One side is saying "we suck and it's all Marvin's fault and we aren't winning cuz of him" and the other side is saying "we're so much better than the Huskies because they've been playing cupcake teams."

    HMM...

  8. Who do you think will fight Marvin? I hope we get a chance to see what Big Mac can do.

If we were to take 4 points from the Huskies and no one fought Marvin this weekend would be a loss and total embarrassment in my mind.

  9. Amy I would be willing to bet that If Genoway doesn't get hit with an dirty hit maybe ending his season that UND would be sitting a lot prettier than they are right now.

Also go back and look at who they played. UAA (x4), Brown (x2), QU (X2), MTU (X2), UMN (x2), C.C. (X 4). Outside of C.C. who went 1-2-1 against CC most of those teams not world beaters.

  10. Chet, I don't know I am sure there will be a few Sioux players taking a run at him this weekend. If I was the Sioux coaching staff I would hammer Roe and Lasch ever chance that I get, put a body on them every time they touch the puck. If they get a chance to smoke em legally I say all out.

It will be interesting to see if Marvin ACTUALLY MANS UP or not. Remember Paukobitch wouldn't after being challenged many times and having to be rescued by the refs

  11. I think its funny how you keep barking about how weak SCSU's opponents have been and you defend the cup cakes that Bemidji has played most of their games against.

  12. Funny you should mention that but Miami beat you twice and BSU beat Miami, also, BSU swept UMD while your team did not. Swing and a miss.

  13. OMG...is this WCHAdominates person going to be at the game on Saturday?!? Am I going to have to seperate you guys?!? GEEZ!!

I still think you're a wuss for not taking the bet that if your precious Sioux lose on Saturday that you have to wear Heather's Marvin game worn jersey!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Amy, I will not wear that hack's jersey, there is not a snowballs chance in hell you would a SCSU jersey touch my body. Mark Parish maybe.

  15. Be a rebel and wear a Maverick Jersey then!! :)

Also, it's not fair to call someone a hack for one bad choice. Look at his stats and you'll see he's not a hack. Cut the kid some slack.
