How long will Wild fans tolerate this?
This clip sums up the Wild season so far. Donna from Running with the Dogs inspired this question; how long with the 18,568 screaming, adoring fans put up with this crap and stop coming to the games? I said I wouldn’t walk across the street, buy cheap tickets from a scalper and sit in the upper deck to watch this crap.
Then I had an epiphany, it just came to me. I want to know if Richards and Fletcher are playing for the number one overall draft choice in hopes of getting a Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin or even a John Tavares. Based on the talent the Wild have this season it probably wouldn’t be that hard, there is also a lot of dead weight on this team. First round bust(s) Beniot Pouliot (1g-2a-3pts) actually got an assist tonight, and then he acted like he has scored a goal during the Stanley Cup playoffs. James Sheppard (0g-0a-0pts) has another unproductive night and again put up a goose egg on the score sheet. Why are these two clowns still here?
Positives +
I was happier than hell when the Wild scored three goals on four shots during the second period, it brought tears of joy to my eyes. Brent Burns got things rolling as he scored a nice goal on the power play, Cal Clutterbuck scored a beautiful goal on a slap shot and that goal was followed by a gritty workman like goal that was also a thing beauty as the Irish man Owen Nolin power the puck past the Predators goalie. The Wild were rolling and then they quit.
Wild Fans how long to we put up with this crap?

They are rebuilding and just won't say it. They need to rebuild since DR canabalized the farm system and drafted poorly and threw away draft picks like yesterday's mail. Plus, for the system Fletcher and Richards want to run, they have maybe 3-4 current players to do so, so they need to rebuild to create the team they want.
ReplyDeleteWe just need to hold back the puke as we watch. They are actually lucky that the Gophers suck just as much for many of the same reasons. If the Gophers were dominating I bet they would lose a lot of fans and since it takes 2-3 years to rebuild, they might never get those fans back. It is really going to be an aweful year but since they have no chance to do anything this year, why don't we just trade the dead weight contracts and tank the rest of the season so we can draft Taylor Hall this summer.
Oh and I am so glad we signed Sykora for a mil plus to be a healthy scratch, nice pickup there.
That Donna chick is hella smart.
ReplyDeleteAny team that doesn't at least try to win, especially this early in the season is begging for permanent damage. Even if you're rebuilding, you still try to win. There's plenty of time to tank after the trade deadline, and you never know if you're going to hit a hot streak and actually do semi-decent. You don't need Sidney Crosby to be a decent team, and there probably won't be another Sidney Crosby for a while. All you need is Craig Anderson, just look at the Avs
ReplyDeleteYeah good points Boosh, I just think the Wild are going to be craptacular (sp) all season long.
ReplyDeleteAs Jacques would say, "No doubt."
