Student-athlete of the year -- J.P. Testwuide, Denver
WCHA Coach of the Year Dave Hakstol, who led his UND Fighting Sioux to the WCHA regular season championship and MacNaughton Cup here in 2008-09, is a four-time national finalist for the HCA Spencer Penrose Award. Hakstol has led North Dakota to an NCAA Frozen Four appearance in each of his four seasons and is already the fourth-winningest coach in UND history. Hakstol's teams have posted a winning percentage of over .700 from Jan. 1 on over his five seasons behind the bench. The Sioux are 24-12-4 through games of March 15 and ranked No. 5/6 in the latest polls.
