Lucia doesn't have cancer.

Here is some good news that just came out. While the Sioux and Gophers are heated rivals and even after all of the stuff that went on out on the ice we are all human beings. We wish tDon a speedy recovery.

"I don't have cancer."

So said University of Minnesota men's hockey coach Don Lucia, speaking extensively today for the first time about the undetermined illness that has forced him to miss four games in the past two weeks and has spawned numerous rumors.

Lucia, who has "one more round of tests" from doctors scheduled Wednesday, added, "The good thing is right now it sounds like the nasty stuff has been eliminated, and they're trying to pinpoint what type of treatment plan."

Since falling ill on Dec. 27, Lucia has been forced to deal with a private and uncertain medical situation while also being a daily topic of discussion in the media because of his public persona.
