JMFJ Returns to the King's line up.

Jack Johnson has returned to the LA Kings line up. Even though he played for Michigan he was one of my favorite college players unless he was playing against the Fighting Sioux. It will be interesting to see if anything happens between Johnson and Kessel when they meet on March 19th 2009.
Jack Johnson returns in Kings' loss
Defenceman Jack Johnson returned from the injured list Saturday afternoon for the Kings and mustered two shots and five hits in 20 minutes of ice time, but it wasn't enough to help Los Angeles avoid a fourth straight loss, 3-2 in a shootout at Dallas.

Johnson, who turned 22 on Tuesday, had sat out the last 41 games because of a shoulder injury suffered on Oct. 12.

The American blue-liner was placed on the injured reserve list the next day and had shoulder surgery later that month.

Before the injury, Johnson played in two games, with no points and two penalty minutes.

  1. Hey, Potato Breath,

The Fighting Sioux are where it's at but they're not the only thing happening. Friday night I watched the unbeaten in conference play and defending MIAC champion Hamline Pipers duel the men in black from St. Olaf, also undefeated in conference play.
Actually, it wasn't the best game ever, Hamline wins 6-2. Both teams running around in their own end.
But here's what's good about MIAC hockey. The play isn't all that bad. Most of the players have USHL experience and hockey prep school time.(Shattuck-St. Mary's, for instance) They might be a step slower than WCHA guys but that isn't easy to notice because all the seats are good seats, close to the ice. Cost of ticket-$6. So I sit next to this gorgeous co-ed (Can you still call them that?) and ask her, "Who's the best player on the St. Olaf team?" She:"I hope it's number 13." Me:"Why?" She: "Because he's my brother." I told her that it would be unlikely that I could go to a Wild game and sit next to Marian Gaborik's sister. And since the schools are a fairly easy drive apart, the stands are filled with fans from both, so no matter what happens, somebody is happy. Anyway, there were a few altercations, five game misconducts and some good play. It's a fun experience.
