Dubay expects to face cocaine charge

The attorney for KFAN Radio personality Jeff Dubay said he expects his client to be charged Wednesday in Ramsey County District Court with possessing a small amount of cocaine.
Dubay was arrested last Wednesday night after his car was pulled over in Maplewood. Incorrect reports as to what charges he could face appeared on a news website, indicating a connection to methamphetamine. At least one television report also mentioned Dubay in connection with meth.
"On behalf of Mr. Dubay we're relieved that the formal charges will be brought forward so all the misinformation that was swirling in the press can be clarified and dispelled," said Mark D. Kelly, a St. Paul-based attorney. "I think there was a lot of distress when the allegations regarding methamphetamine and the misinformation on [the] website was posted that this was something that it wasn't. People relied on that to their detriment and to Jeff's detriment."
Kelly said Dubay would have no comment Tuesday.

This seems to be better news (Dubay)
Seems that things don't always shake out the way the newspapers report the news, I think that why some cautioned other before they went on a feeding frenzy. I guess one could say that this is a heck of lot better than it first appeared, while not good, Dubay can recover from this.

This is better because Cocaine is less illegal than Meth? OR because it's not addictive? OR...what?
ReplyDeleteAlso, just curious how you can be taking the stance you are when you've always been "do the crime, do the time!" and "get harder on criminals" and ripped on Liberals like myself? Goon, Goon, Goon...you're wearing two faces:)
ReplyDeleteLGM: A lot of conservatives are very concerned about the war and drugs and what it's doing to our freedoms. (I don't know Goon's feelings on that).
ReplyDeleteBut I fail to see how this is better for Dubay than having too much Sudafed in his car. To me that sounded like a BS charge where this sounds like it's probably legitimate.
"war on drugs"
ReplyDeleteAmy, Amy, Amy, I am not wearing two faces, was holding off judge until he is proven guilty or innocent.
ReplyDeleteDrugs are bad, there is no doubt about it, heck the possible future president of the USA admitted to doing drugs to include Cocaine in one of his book, so I guess if we are going to condemn one for doing narcotics maybe we should condemn BHO as well...
If anything I am disappointed in JD.
