Wow, what a fight! This fight was long over due and you almost knew that it would come to a head during this series. Last season during a game between UND and MSU-M Maverick forward Trevor Bruess was feeding Rylan Kaip with punches, Kaip looked over to the bench to get permission to fight. Permission to engage Bruess in a fight was not granted by coach Hakstol; one could speculated that Hakstol realized that Kaip had already received a DQ for fighting earlier in the season, hence, was not given the green light to fight Bruess. They say hind sight is 20/20 and this moved turned out to be a good move on Kaips part because another fight would have caused Kaip to sit out for two games for getting in a second fight on the season. Tonight's fight was done at the right time.
Here are some of the pictures of the fight that my buddy Marty emailed to me. I must say what a trooper, being the super fan Marty is, he was able to get the pictures to me quickly, also kudos to his wife Garland for having the camera on hand so she could photograph the fight as it happened in real time. After the game and Marty went back to his room and emailed me the pictures from his hotel room in Mankato.
These are really some nice pictures, I am sure these are going to cost a beer or two.
Those pictures suck compared to the ones I have of them with the "Goon Sucks!" sign:)
ReplyDeleteSee, if you're lame at stay in GF you miss all the fun!!
What's up with YOU only haveing pix and not the YouTube of it?!? You're the YouTube master!!
Oops! Stupid YouTube screen didn't pop up on the computer the first time I looked at this post. I thought you had a bunch of blank space there! I should have known that you had the YouTube posted already!
ReplyDeleteDid I see Kaip pull a jersey over Bruess' head and throw a few pillows??
ReplyDeleteGreat Job for a Senior with just a few points over his entire career.
The only loss that we suffered is that our best player will have to sit out in tonight's game. Not to mention that the refs won that game for UND. Lamoureaux should be on the UND diving team, and I hope he is majoring in theater....two thumbs up!! UND is overrated and were completely shut down, with only 2 power play goals.
Hats off to both Kaip and Bruess for their love of the sport and true understanding of the game. Are you so dumb that you think there was a winner in that fight? Go blog for the bantams genius!
Love the sarcasm The Truth.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame, Bruess will be watching the game from the comfort of his home tonight. It may be true that Kaip has only a "few points over his entire career," but a couple of them have been some of the most important goals for the team.
As for Lammy being a diver, I'll plead the fifth.
As for UND being overrated, I'll take that with a grain of salt, just like the the Bruess-Kaip fight being a draw.
There was no winner in that fight....bottom line. And since when do players watch games from their homes?

ReplyDeletethe truth I don't know what fight your watching to say that Kaip didn't win the fight. Pleae, Its pretty evident from the video that Kaip worked Brues like a rented mule, pulling the jersey over the head is a good reason why you fasten your fighting straps. The refs didn't lose the game for you, the net was off in the first non-goal and you can not take out the goalie when scoring a goal. Prozac is recommended in your case.
ReplyDeleteI counted 20 smacks from Kaip vs 0 from douche bag. At least 5 were good solid connections. Other than that I can see where truth boy thinks it was a draw. Specially since they both got undressed and had to skate off the ice half naked. hehe
ReplyDeleteKaip fights like a girl and reflects the image of UND hockey... man up Kaip who pulls jerseys. Ahh its only because your scared. And if you fight again and even touch Bruess, I'll be comin.... bet that, South Side 612
ReplyDeleteLucky for Kaip, Maverick jerseys don't have fight straps! Pillows- not smacks! Lame-oureaux knocked it off in his typical fashion.... it should have been a penalty shot.
ReplyDeleteGood thing Kaip got his revenge. Bruess is a tool and got the shit kicked out of him just what he deserved.
ReplyDeleteTruth your right....there was no winner since Bruess kept hitting Kaip in the fist with his face. Get a clue!!!
