New Jersey Fires Coach: Are Kidding me?

Lou Cans Head Coach with 1 week left

Imagine this; you are a coach in the NHL. Your team is going to finish 1st or 2nd in your conference. Your team is currently sitting in first in your division. Lastly, your division team has won 4 out of 5 game and you lose your job. Don't forget that three of your best players were hurt and just returning to the line up. Claude Julian was fired from his job on Monday by the New Jersey Devils GM Lou Lamoriello
this is almost as silly as the Bruins trading Joe Thornton to San Jose and getting three mediocre players in their return. That is another issue though. I thought this was an April Fool's joke when I first read it. So I buzzed over to http://hockeybuzz.com to confirm it. This is down right silly.

Here is what Lou had to say

Lou...

"When you are in my position you know things that other people don't and I have to make my decisions based on that.
I must live up to your responsibility to do what I think is necessary."

"This is not a problem that has just come in the last few games."

"I don't like the direction the team was going in...not ready for playoffs...too relaxed."

"The decision came down to what is right for the New Jersey Devils to have the best chance at success and you make the move for that reason. It is not personal, it is my responsibility to make the moves that I think will do that."

"Julien will remain in the organization"

"I saw things nobody else did"

"The team was not in right frame of mind."

Julien will remain in the organization, yeah right. Look for Claude to run out the door when no one is looking.
