There is no place in hockey for this type of crap, this is the kind of crap that gives hockey a bad name. Not a week after the Chris Simon another hockey player is disciplined by the NHL. Tootoo checks Madano then when a player comes to his aid and Tootoo sucker punches him. In that case Tootoo was challenged he should have dropped the gloves and squared off with Robidas.
Robidas was knocked unconscious on the play late in the third period of Saturday night's 3-2 win by the Predators at Nashville.
Robidas, who was coming to the defence of star centre Mike Modano, was assessed a minor for charging on the play, and Tootoo received a double-minor for roughing.
Robidas was carried off the ice on a stretcher and was taken to hospital. He's out at least a week after sustaining a concussion.

Tootoo, 24, has (3) three goals, (4) four assists and 104 penalty minutes in 61 games this season. Robidas, 30, has 17 assists and 82 penalty minutes in 71 games this season.

I guess you could say it obvious that Robidas was trying to confront Tootoo, but he could have step back and challenged him to a fight. I don't know. I still think it was dirty, but that is just my opinion.
