Someone (besides a Gopher fan) please tell me how Ryan Duncan was left off the Hobey Baker voting? Ok Eric Johnson is a good hockey player but isn't even worthy of getting a vote for the Hobey in my opinion.
Hey Goon.North Dakota is a bunch of hacks for a hockey team. THis is college hockey not NHL. While hockey is a physical sport by nature, it isn't meant to be a boxing match, especially at the college level. Its funny to watch every stoppage of play a NDSU player trys to take the other teams helmet off to spar. Low class I tell ya. Anyways, I was at least happy to see that you are a Republican. That gives you 5 points back for the 5 you lost for your ignorant views on hockey should be played (or at least what you elude to as proper play) Did you ever play hockey, or were you too busy out shooting shit? BTW, I too am a hunter.. You don't get any points in my book on that one.
ReplyDeleteI did play a little hockey, and I don't think I can be blamed for the style of play that UND plays. I do approve of their style of play though. Your right hockey is a rough sport and that is what makes it the best sport on the planet.
ReplyDeleteI am sure with the response that you gave that you have to be a Gopher fan which would leave me to believe that your suffering from sour grapes from getting swept by the mighty Sioux. I wouldn't be surprised if the Goofers get beat by the Sea Wolves this year also.
Of course if a player rams the goalie I do belive the proper response is to physically respond to that player that committed the running of the goalie.
Who cares individual awards don't win national championships.
ReplyDeleteRight, I agree with you, that wasn't the crux of the argument, I am shocked that he didn't make the ballot.
ReplyDeleteThats ok though, I am sure he wouldn't mind winning an NCAA title instead. 20+ goals and pretty much flying under the radar this season. I guess it works for me. I suppose next year he will get more attention.
I see Niagra has 3 players on the list while we only have two.
ReplyDeleteNo disrespect intended but according to the Krach poll we've had the 3rd hardest schedule while Niagra's has been the 44th hardest.
Matty, nice sour grapes.
Duh Niagara.
ReplyDeleteI am sick and tired of year after year there is this east coast bias, kind of like the MSM and their left wing bias. Moy from USCHO in Bracketology has the EZAC getting two team in the mix. I see don't see how they don't have two team in the top 14 of the RPI or the PWR.
ReplyDeleteGoon:
ReplyDeleteI agree that Duncan should have gotten series consideration for the ballot and I am surely a bit biased, but I have to bring this up...
NMU forward Mike Santorelli.
Duncan: 28GP, 21G, 15A, 3GWG, 1SHG
Santos: 30GP, 25G, 15A, 5GWG, 4SHG
He is first in his conference in goals and second in the nation. He also leads the country with his four shorties. Santorelli has scored, literally, 34% of the team's goals. Now, no offense to anyone, but Mike Santorelli should most definitely be on that list. No questions asked.
But he isn't because he plays in a small market and because he is on a mediocre team that no one talks about.
I agree with you that both our players have been snubbed. I look at the list and see guys like Blake Wheeler on that list, the kid although a good hockey player has no business being considered for the Hobey Baker award.
ReplyDeleteErik Johnson he isn't even the best defenseman in the WCHA. I don't get it.
