Benoit Pouliot Boards Alexei Emelin

First off, these are hits that need to be removed from the game of hockey. New York Rangers forward Benoit Pouliot saw numbers and shouldn't have hit Montreal Canadiens defenseman Alexei Emelin.

All right, but the acting job to sell the penalty was ridiculous, that was worthy of a unsportsmanlike penalty itself. And of course the Canadiens fans wanted a five-minute major on Pouliot. Thoughts?

  1. Canadiens fans don't cheer for their team... They cheer for the ref.

    2. I was going to say that I agree Starfighter673. Emelin sold it hard and the Habs milked it as well.

  3. This is the kind of hit that is clearly an attempt to injure. I'm a lifelong Ranger fan and I believe that Pouliot should have been tossed from the game and gotten a suspension as well. There is no room in sports for this kind of behavior. These pros sacrifice their bodies each game and don't need dirty hits added to the game.

  4. It wasn't a good hit, but it's not worthy of a suspension... Emelin sold it hard.

  5. Yeah the hit was bad and was ok when the hab went to his knees but the fall to his face and death quivers were a little over the top.
