Big A HG had this uniform idea/concept posted over on Siouxsports.com and if UND decides to go with the no-logo/nick name in the interim while they pick a new one I think this is also a really good option. Contrary to the people that think you can just change the nick name, it may take a while to find an acceptable replacement nick name and logo that will even come close to the Fighting Sioux name and in my opinion that could be debatable as well. On my personal short list of name is no name, Wild Nokotas, Norse and Areos (flight School), Predators (UAV's), SOO and Flyers.
Just as long as they keep the small WCHA logo on the shoulder of whatever jersey they decide to use. That is more important than anything else on the jersey.
ReplyDeleteI like it. I would like to see just plain old University of North Dakota for as long as it takes to pick a nickname or better yet, go with simply University of North Dakota without a nickname indefinately.
ReplyDeleteI doubt they will be the Norse, as Luther College already uses the Norsemen, and while it's hardly uncommon to see a nickname repeated, they are only a couple states apart.

ReplyDeleteMy vote goes to the Penn State concept, plain black, green and white with numbers, just the players' names, no logos. Everybody knows who the Fighting Sioux are, they don't need no stinking logos.
ReplyDeleteI wish UND naming would just drop the "Fighting" and retain the SIOUX, this would be no different the Florida Seminals. I think somethings can be this simple, please help with the push.
