Friday morning links… UND vs. ND

Good Morning!!! UND is in South Bend, Indiana to play the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame in a crucial two game nonconference series that has some big time pairwise ranking implications.
·         International Man of mystery Matt Schill and Tim Hennessy preview the upcoming series between UND and Notre Dame.
·         Here is Matt and Tim’s Breakdown after the game last Saturday night.
·         Grand Forks Herald beat writer Brad Schlossman is already experiencing travel problems and is doing to be on a tight schedule making it to South Bend, Indiana.
·         Roman Augustoviz and Jerry the Superfan make their predictions for this weekend in the WCHA and Roman predicts that UND will be swept by the Fighting Irish and Jerry the Superfan predicts that UND will sweep the Irish.  Just for the record, last time Roman predicted that UND would be swept they split with the SCSU Huskies.
·          Here is my blog post for the Hockey Writers Combine. The Only Game in Town.
·         Here is my series notes for the Week Ahead.
·         Michael Russo has been covering the Gophers during the NHL lockout and during the Minnesota Media day on Wednesday, UMN head coach Donnie Lucia said that UND will be back on the UMN schedule when the Notre Dame Fighting Irish fall off the Gophers schedule.
·         This weekend both games will be on the Notre Dame webcasts and the good news is that they’re free. You can view the games by going to this link. I will be interesting to see if the ND webcasts will be able to handle all of the web traffic that UND fans are going to bring.
·         A Tradition of Excellence has this weekend’s links.
·         Brad Schlossman has a great article that asks the question do the college hockey refs talk to the coaches too much? Last weekend, both games were in the 2:45 minute range and that is a pretty long college hockey game.  These were two of the longest games that UND has played in for eight years.
·         UND SID has a travel blog up for this weekend’s trip to South Bend and we can bet that Jason will have a great update on the team’s trip. They were able to dodge the full TSA grope and long airport lines by flying on a charter.
