Dean Blais, who was recently named the new head hockey coach at Nebraska-Omaha, has an out in his contract that allows him to apply for the Gophers job if it becomes available. [Bayside Puck Chatter] [Husker Mike]

Blais has out in his contract.
I found this to be interesting, but it makes sense. That being said I don't think Gophers or Mavericks fans need to worry just yet.

I wonder why he would make a stipulation like that? Lucia is done in 2012 so we'll have to wait and see.
ReplyDeleteI dunno, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but who knows.
ReplyDeleteI like how that is pretty much an official record saying that he wants the MN job and the UNO job is pretty much a tryout to show he's still got it (of course he does but the heads at MN probably want proof)
ReplyDeleteI would be surprised if Blais did coach the Gophers but that being said I don't think Lucia is untouchable either.
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding Blais doesn't want to be locked in at UNO if UM decides to axe Lucia, he's almost a shure in at UM if he proves he still has it at UNO. More money, more clout, and a better recuiting tool. Blais plus UM equal bad for everyone else, especially for UND fans who would be unable to wake up from the nightmare. I for one am very worried this will happen, so that's why I say Lucia is doing a great job and deserves a pay raise not ridicule.
ReplyDeleteLong live Lucia!
PS: Hextall rocks
I for one am not going to worry about Blais to UMN,if it happens I guess it will happen.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with your never summer name and the fact that Hextall Rocks.
