Wild at the Trade dead line.

This is my latest crontibution at the illegal curve. If I was the General Manager for the Minnesota Wild.

3. Minnesota Wild (Courtesy of Eric from Goon’s World)

Needs:

1.) Top line forward: Someone in like Olli Jokinen.
2.) Second line forward: Someone along the lines of a player like Jason Blake.
3.) Another second or third line forward: Or maybe a rent-a-player like Keith Tkachuk. Simply:
The Wild are in dire need of offense and anything would be an improvement.

Who’s Available:

1.) Martin Skoula: This team has an over abundance on defense.
2.) Kim Johnsson: See above.
3.) Marian Gaborik: Wild can’t resign him so the team needs to get whatever they can for Gabby.

The Mild will do almost nothing (is Chris Simon still playing?)

  2. I'm not a Wild fan but live in the Cities. I think the best thing they can do is trade Backstrom before the deadline for picks or a younger scorer. Riser has ruined this organization in my opinion. The team is weak, the farm system is dreadful because he traded away so many picks for players that aren't here anymore. i.e. Rolston and Dimetra. Gave away picks for Bergeron and Zidlicky. Also, gave a bunch of money to Schultz who's talent isn't that hard to find for cheaper. Gabroik screwed them too but he should've been moved last year.

I've heard arguments against trading the one good asset, Backs, but this team is going nowhere this year, next year, and the following year most likely. Trade assets, trade PMB, and build your team around Koiv and Burns with younger guys for a run in 3-4 years. Otherwise, you'll get the same one-and-done like we've seen from this organization since the abberition of 2004 (?)

Actually, the best thing that could happen is for the new owner to see thru the crap and realize that Riser the GM is the same clown who runined Calgary.

i'm not a hater, Goon, but i can't sit back and listen to the Wild Organization take baby steps while they take giant bags of cash to the bank every year. The "State" of hockey deserves better.

  3. I have had enough of D.R. he has run this team into the ground. No good free agents want to play for the Wild anymore because of the coaching and the style of play. I think this why Gabby wants to go some where else. The Wild have totally mismanaged this team. Now the fan base of 18,000 is starting to get restless.

  4. I am in the same boat as Archie. I live in the Twin Cities and enjoy hockey, but I am neutral when it comes to the Wild. Clearly the defense is top notch. It's time to add some young offensive punch. You can't get rid of Rolston, Demitra, Parrish and bring in Owen fu**ing Nolan and Brunette and expect to be better. Zidlicky is a good offensive defenseman and that's what this team needs: more offense. Get rid of players like James Sheppard. On any other team he would have been in the AHL months ago.
