  1. Not too bad there Goon. You were quite a ways off on SCSU and MN though. I was also off on MN, and I underestimated Wisconsin a little bit as I had them 4th. Denver in first was a no brainer, and Tech/Anchorage in 9th & 10th were also gimmes.

  2. Very nicely done. The Goophers tanked and St Clown did a bit better than anyone expected.

  3. OK, Nostrodamus, who's going to win the Kentucky Derby? I need to cash a ticket.

  5. You definitely had more right than wrong. Pretty well done, given the seemingly infinite scenarios that can play out over a long season.

We should have a very interesting first weekend of playoffs. I think we could see a few surprsies from road teams this weekend.

UAA has upset WI at home before. They are a big, physical team that has split with some very good teams.

CC has a ton of speed and skill. When they are on, they are scary good. I wouldn't be suprised if they upset UMD.

SCSU likely is not very excited with their match up against MSU. The Mavs have pretty muched owned them the last 4 years. We will see if the Hukies are contenders or pretenders this weekend. If they loose, I could see them falling out of the NCAA tournament. That would definitely qualify as a swoon.

UM & UND. What else can you say...the best match up this weekend. Both teams carry some momentum into the series. UND is the hottest team right now in college hockey. The Gophers just smoked Bucky and have ignited their power play. UND will make the NCAA Tournament. Gophers have more to play for. We'll see how bad they want it. Both teams have scary good talent.

I fully expect DU to advance with little trouble. But, you never know. Sometimes it's a game of bounces and lucky breaks.

Good luck to your teams. Enjoy the great hockey this weekend. Nothing is better than college hokcey playoffs.

  6. I don't think Anchorage has a chance at Bucky. They played at the Kohl back in November and the Badgers creamed 'em both games. UND is not the hottest team in the country, Denver is. Denver has only lost once in like 2 months, that was a 2-1 loss at home against CC on Friday. I'd bet my mortgage on Denver pumelling Tech this weekend at Magness.

  7. UND is the hottest team in hockey right now. Denver did not play well against MSU Mankato, getting outshot badly 2 weeks ago. Chev saved that series for us. DU played well in 1 game against CC. I agree both UW and DU should go 2 and out for the weekend. However, it does not always work that way.

UND is on a roll with a 7 game winning streak. No one wants to play them right now. Put it this way, I'll be chearing for the goophers just so DU has less of threat at the Final Five.
