Do you believe? Go Team USA.

This video brings back some really good memories. There were 3 Fighting Sioux hockey players on that USA WJC roster; Brady Murray, Drew Stafford and Zach Parise.

It's been a long six years since USA has won the WJC. The Canadians are on a roll, it’s time for the Americans to stop them dead in their tracks. I hope that team USA can finally break the Canadian stranglehold on the WJC. I want to hear the American anthem at the end of the game.
BallHype: hype it up!

  1. A friend of mine at HockeyBias told me that (for cheapskates like me who don't splurge for NHL networks) you can watch tonight's game at http://www.justin.tv/mcanimx#r=l0FaleY

I saw the USA beat the Swedes there, and it was certainly not HD, but it was VERY tolerable.

  3. I wouldn't call you a cheap skate. Not everyone spends 169.00 a month for Digital cable, phone and INTERNET like I do. I just figuer as much time as we spend indoors in the winter time I am not going to be reading novels. :)

  4. Goon,

What do you think of the announcers? I found them very insightful compared to, say, Dan Terhaar and the Wild crew.

...I learned more from them in one period of USA-Sweden than I have watching the Wild on FSN since their inception!

  5. Terharr & Co. are paid by the Wild so they have to support them no matter what, and they are just awful. It is really difficult to hear them kiss the asses of management and a roster full of nobodys besides Koivu, but I guess it is there job. It is so much better to listen to the radio broadcasts for most of these teams. Tom Reid and Bob Kurtz for the Wild are excellent and Wally Shaver and Glen Sonmor are entertaining for the Gophers. Tim Hennessey is great too for Nodak. Brian Schultz for the Beavs really knows his stuff and tells it like it is. All of these guys are much better than their TV counterparts.

  6. I understand (but don't like) the ass-kissing, but it would be nice to have somebody mix in a little thought-provocation here and there; the two are not mutually exclusive.

I found the WJC tv guys to be head and shoulders better than any of the wild or gopher radio or tv announcers and color guys...

  7. Charlie am I one of the few people that Like Terharr & Co.? I don't find them to be too bad. I think the Ducks homers are really bad.

  8. I think Scott Williams is one of the beter College Hockey TV voices. I really like the work him and Monsey do.
