The UAA goal that was waved off.

I actually don't know why that isn't a goal? According to Lammy the UAA player batted it in with his hand/fist. I don't know.

  1. I feel so bad for UAA. :( I think that should've been a goal too. I think the Sioux players pushed the UAA guy into the crease more or less. This video makes me sad to watch.

...Except for my favorite part... when they announce the MTU-CC score! Hee! That was awesome.

    Poor UAA though. =\

  2. Way too familiar. Hmm...opposing team going to the net, ready to score, only to have UND players push him and have a goal waived off.

Dirty Sioux tactics!! Crap like this went on in Mankato over and over too. If it wasn't the push, it was Drama Queen Lammy lifting the post with his skate.

"Cheat to win!" It's the new UND slogan.

  3. I watched the thing 5 - 10 times and I dunno, I guess if you look hard enough it would appear that the UAA player wasn't touched enough to call it a goal. In other words mabye they ruled he wasn't bumped into lammy and went in on his own. I don't know what else could have caused it to not be a goal.

I guess we could get the UAA coach to comment on it. Looking at that there has to be something else to make ruling it off legit that we don't see in this replay which is not very good. There has been no apology by the league so they must be cool with it. I am cool with Anderson being fired from the league. The fact that he took so long and called another offical in makes it harder to question.

    Like I said I don't know.

  4. Not pertinent to the post above but I thought that Fighting Sioux fans might want to weigh in on this one

I hope that everyone will go to the site and vote against the intended 'candidate' in the hopes of keeping them from bemiring the honor of the Hobey Baker Award.

  7. UNH, Blogger was down for a while there and maybe they have another glitch.

gerbe, I always thought that he was punk, but not because of the one ice performance just because I think he is a little weasle.

  8. RWD, I am not a fan of goalies much anyways so I could agree with you, goalies are like field goal kickers, they ussually are head cases or drama queens take your pick. The fact that we need them and they are quite important like the QB means we put up with their antics and quirks.

  10. Okay, when I watch it the UND defensemen is on the UAA player, but he doesn't extend his arms or push him towards the net/goalie. The UAA player ends up sliding into the crease backwards, WITHOUT the puck. So, the UAA player is in the crease and the puck is outside it. The UAA player makes contact with the goalie as he is reaching out to get the puck in the white. The goal was waived off, and from what I see, it is a crease violation, simple as that.

  12. Don, that is what I got from it after I watched a the replay a bunch of times it appears that UAA player looks like he had little if any contact with the Sioux defensive players. Or you could make the argument that the contact wasn't enough to make the call a goal.

I am surprised with the comments the coaches can make about the refs this season.

  13. The face-off remained in the UND zone, that's what got me

  14. Yeah they blew that call if the goal is wavied off they are supposed to take it out of the zone. No one questioned Anderson on that.
