UMD and SCSU kick off the first game of the Red Barron Final Five. UMD got there by shocking denver University in three games. SCSU got there by beating a depleted C.C. Tiger team in three.
UMD has to win to keep playing in the playoffs, SCSU is probably done as well if they lose tonight. Neither team will win the WCHA final five. History is against them no team has ever won it all from the play in game on thursday. My prediction is that UMD goalie Nate Ziggleman will out duel the Huskies top goalie Bobby Goephert UMD has more offensive punch and played well against DU scoring four goals in one period to put away DU in the last game of the series.
