Well, Vancouver Canucks coach John Tortorella will have an in person hearing for attempting to confront the  Calgary Flames head coach and for the scrum that erupted in the hall afterwards. You have to think that Torts will be getting a vacation and a hefty fine.

Canucks vs. Kings: Dale Weise slew foots Drew Doughty

The big question now is will there be a Shannaban for for Dale Weise's slew foot on Kings defenseman Drew Doughty? There was no penalty called on the play. Through two periods of play there was over 100-minutes in penalties.

NCHC Shootout numbers

Today, I was bored and the topic of the Shootout has had a lot of discussion as of late. Some of the discussion has been in favor of the shootout and, others have down right slammed it.  I am in favor of the shootout, I think it’s a good way to settle “regular” season games that are tied after regulation and after the overtime is over.

Yesterday, Vancouver Canucks head coach John Tortrella said, "That gimmick should be out of the league."

(Video) Milan Lucic Fights outside Vancouver Club

This happened after the Boston Bruins lost to the Vancouver Canucks 6-2 on Saturday night. From the Sporting News.

After his Bruins lost to the Canucks in Vancouver on Saturday night, video surfaced of an angry Milan Lucic cursing outside a Vancouver nightclub following an apparent altercation.

No punches are thrown in the video, and Lucic was not the aggressor, but he did say he'd been hit twice and was upset that an officer suggested that he leave.

Vancouver Canucks: Zach Kassian no-class....

I would say that Zach Kassian is taunting an opponent. A bush league move in my opinion. Here's what Greg Wyshynski of Puck Daddy has to say on the matter.

Gagner faced the Canucks for the first time this season on Friday night. At one point, the teams were involved in a scrum that included his former oral surgeon Kassian.

Because hockey is a nasty, twisted psychological war in which nearly every topic can be weaponized for agitation, Kassian looked over at Gagner went … there.

Kassian is pretty much a meat head, a player that I would classify as a rat. Said "Rat" averages 11.16 minutes a game and has scored (17g-11a—28pts) in 111 NHL games. When one of your team mates punch him in his big mouth, he wins. In this case, this clown deserves it. I think hockey is starting to gain a punk mentality like the other major sports.

In this case, I think he performed with in his niche is to be an agitator, to do bush league moves like this. This season, said Rat has been already suspended five-games for breaking the jaw of Oilers forward Sam Gagner. That's why he was wearing the shield protecting his jaw.

This is one of the reasons I don't want to ever want see fighting taken out of the NHL. This clown needs to be looking over his shoulder. If fighting is removed or curtailed from the NHL, the "Rats" like this clown will flourish. Imagine if there's no fighting in the NHL? These types of incidents will lead to further random acts of violence. Eventually, someone will chop him head first into boards and he will probably end up being carried off of the ice on a stretcher.

Daniel Sedin loses a tooth against the Kings

Ouch! L.A. Kings forward Jake Muzzin received a double-minor for high-sticking Vancouver Canucks forward Daniel Sedin in the mouth. That has to hurt? But he's a hockey players so he has to be tough right? Oh Daniel Sedin had a nice smile right? Sedin would return to the game.

Former UND forward Brock Nelson scored his first NHL goal tonight against the Vancouver Canucks. assisting on the Nelson goal was Peter Regin and former Minnesota Wild forward Cal Clutterbuck. So far in five-games this season, Nelson has scored (1g-1a—2pts).

Vancouver Canucks Defenseman Alex Edler suspended 3-games for illegal hit

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Alex Edler, a repeat offender was given a Shannaban for this dirty and bush league hit on Sharks forward Tomas Hertl, who's taken the NHL by storm with his play so far this season. Hertl has scored (6g-1a--7pts) in four games this season and scored four goals in one game against the New York Rangers.  My question is; did Edler target Hertl to make a point, or is Edler just a just a dirty player that finally got burned for making a dirty hit? Thoughts?

NEW YORK – Vancouver Canucks defenseman Alex Edler has been suspended for three games, without pay, for an illegal check to the head of San Jose Sharks forward Tomas Hertl during NHL Game No. 56 in Vancouver on Thursday, October 10, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

Edler is considered a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and based on his average annual salary, he will forfeit $182,926.83. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

The incident occurred at 19:46 of the second period. No penalty was assessed on the play.

Some Vancouver Canucks fan that posts videos under the name MAKAVELI posted a couple of these spoofs directed towards the Boston Bruins on YouTube.com this the same guy that came up with the Embellishment City Video as well. I suppose in today's world someone will take offense to this and probably will complain. To be honest with you, I hate the Vancouver Canucks, I think their a bunch of divers, cry babies and frauds. So, I am inclined to cut Wes Walz some slack and laugh with him on this one... Plus, he's a former Bruins and Wild player.

What's laughable is a Canucks fans would come up with this spoof video on another team in the NHL diving. The Vancouver Canucks are the poster boys for diving and embellishment, if needed we can do a review of the offenders. This remotely amusing video, calls out the Brad Marchand for what a play during the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. Whatever. You would probably circle the earth twice with video tape, of all of the instances of the Canucks diving and embellishing calls.

Jannik Hansen hit to the head of Marian Hossa

During last night's game, Vancouver Canuck forward Jannik Hansen hit Chicago Blackhawk forward Marian Hossa's in the head  with this dirty hit. This play needs to be reviewed by the department of players safety. There is no doubt that this hit and should have been more than a two minute minor penalty, in my opinion.

48.1 Illegal Check to the Head – A hit resulting in contact with an opponent's head where the head is targeted and the principal point of contact is not permitted. However, in determining whether such a hit should have been permitted, the circumstances of the hit, including whether the opponent put himself in a vulnerable position immediately prior to or simultaneously with the hit or the head contact on an otherwise legal body check was avoidable, can be considered.

The Canucks Ryan Kesler show us how to dive and then get a penalty

Diving is ruining the game of hockey, on all levels and there is no excuse for it. Punish the offending players and it will evaporate from the game of hockey, almost over night.

Vancouver Canucks forward Ryan Kesler is dead to me, there is no excuse for the way he plays the game of hockey, while he might be a great young American forward, he's a fraud. Kesler is no better than his buddies  Alex Burrows and Maxim Lapierre who are also a disgrace to the game of hockey.

All three of these clowns are a text book examples on how to flail, dives, embellish. Disgusting.

Clayton Stoner hammers Alex Burrows

Minnesota Wild Defenseman Clayton Stoner lays the woods to Vancouver Canucks forward fraud Alex Burrows. This a textbook legal hit. So far through one period this is the only bright spot for the Minnesota Wild.

UND vs. UW goals and Jefferson Dahl dive

Here is the video from UND's four goals last night. All of UND's last night were a direct result of them going to the net hard and beating the Badgers to the puck. UND took the Badgers to the woodshed last night, I thought defensively, North Dakota gave the Bagers little.

I thought UND was the better team for most of the weekend. I would give Badgers goalie Landon Peterson some credit, he's definitely a shut down goaltender, with the Badgers defensive systems they are going to be hard to get pucks past.

I included video of the Dan Senkbeil and Jefferson Dahl, if you watch Dahl he crumples up like he has been shot. I am not saying that it didn't hurt, but really... Senkbeil didn't hit him that hard. Ryan Kessler would be proud of Dahl.

All weekend long, the Badgers were doing their best Vancouver Canucks impersonation. I included the video where you see Andrew MacWillam show his disgust with the Badger player that dove to the ice.

*In no way am I saying UND players have never dove, I am not saying they don't on occasion, but I have rarely seen it happen this year. I know Andy Johnson thought Rocco Grimaldi embellished during the overtime period of Friday's game but unfortunately, I don't have any video to go back and look at.

I can think of two instances last year where Ben Blood embellished to draw a penalty. I am saying that embellishment and diving is way out of hand in the WCHA and college hockey right now. I think it's poor sportsmanship.

"Locked Out" NHL Gophers Return to Minnesota

Even though they're former Gopher hockey players, and they're from two teams I am not all that fond of, Keith Ballard who's from the Vancouver Canucks and Paul Martin who's from the Pittsburgh Penguins; they both did a pretty good job in this video and it's very funny. Thank God the NHL is back on.
