DeleteI thought the nickname abcdefghjklmnpqrtvwyz name was very clever. The rationale was awesome "Alphabet without the letters 'i,' 'o,' 'u,' 's,' and 'i' because we're no longer the SIoux. :D LOL.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I'd love to watch what would ensue if we adopt the nickname "Warriors." The bleeding heart liberals will storm Grand Forks again for another reference to Native Americans (because they're the only race to have Warriors apparently).

I like the Fighting Cavalry idea. Honestly, I do. I'd rather have no nickname but the Fighting Cavalry would be a great nickname.

DeleteAnd we'd immediately be back on the list. Warriors, with the exception of "Rainbow Warriors" have systematically been eradicated from the NCAA. Marquette used to be the Golden Warriors, but now are the Golden Eagles for example. It appears as though the only Warriors out there are Native Americans. Everyone else were historically lovers apparently. :D
DeleteBy the way, as I went through the list it became VERY apparent that there were just as many, if not more, NDSU fans and UND haters chiming in as there were UND fans. Also, it was very apparent that many had NO CLUE about the NCAA Native American policy whatsoever. I mean... Let's be the Blackfoot? The Chiefs? Really? Heck, while we're acting so ignorant, let's recommend Redskins because it works for the NFL or Braves because it works for MLB? Please.
