UND is a bunch of goons?

The UAA fan blog had an interesting point on UND being highly penalized and a bunch of goons, 5 of the top 20 most penalized players are from UND. I am not shocked. If you peruse the numbers you will also notice that the highest penalized WCHA player is from the SCSU Huskies. Yep, our buddy the cheater Chris Hepp is ranked third in NCAA penalty minutes. I also expected to see more MSU-M Mavericks in the top 25. Looks like UMD brings a goon or two to Grand Forks, ND as well. Mario Lamoureux's 28 penalty minutes in one games skewed his numbers a bit.

  1. The Mavs are angels! I can't believe any are on the list!! :)

Really though, the Mavs have tried really really hard to stay out of the box this season. That's why the antics of the refs last weekend in WI were so annoying. Cripes!

  2. UND is one of the top PK teams in the nation so they can afford to take a few penalties.

  3. and ofcourse all of the PIMs were for goon behaviors. The Sioux need to quit cheating and running down players and taking them out with illegal head checks and checking from behind.
I mean in the second period of the Sat. night game of the Denver series at Magness arena was a prime example of the blatent goon play by the Sioux, I just can't believe they didn't get more calls against them, Only 7 in a row!?
The WCHA needs to suspend those refs for being to soft on the Sioux.
