Dirtiest players in hockey.

I was looking at the results of this poll and I noticed none of the dirtiest players are American. Here is the break down of the dirtiest players in the NHL. They are Steve Ott, a Canadian, Chris Pronger, a Canadian, Scott Hartnell a Canadian, Jarkko Ruutu from Finland and last but not least Sean "sloppy seconds" Avery, a Canadian. Not one of top five dirtiest players are an American, Russian, Slovak or Swede.

  1. This damn town is in love with Pronger! And it bugs the crap out of me! They think we should trade away our best player to get him back.. I just don't see it.. Pronger is decent, but he's still dirty, cocky, and damnit he looks like a duck, hope they keep him there!

  2. I actually like him even if he is dirty. He went after PAVEL D at the end of last night's game. What I find interesting is the teams that rack up the penalty minutes have the most success.

  3. Not a big Pronger fan. If I was voting in this poll, I'd probably put my vote in for him too. All of those players on that list are known for being "dirty" players at some point in their careers. Avery has changed a bit since he was suspended and doesn't take nearly as many penalties anymore - Torts saw to that. Pronger has also limited his penalties this post-season and it is helping Anaheim to play more 5-on-5 hockey instead of a man down. Out of those players listed, Hartnell probably has the most offensive skill. He scored 31 goals on the season and when he sets his mind on playing hockey with Lupul and Carter, he's actually pretty darn good.

  4. Pronger is an amazing asset to any team and a really good hockey player. He is also pretty dirty, but there needs to be a poll for dumbest dirty player or something, because then he'd definitely win it. I've seen a lot of his shenanigans, and he is pretty bad at pulling off his crap, he could at least try to be a little less obvious about being a dorkwad and leave that business to the rest of the team.
